About SRB

Syrian Refuge Bracebridge was created by the Syrian Refugee Working Group, a collection of concerned citizens established by the Bracebridge United Church. Some of us are members of the church and some are not. You do not have to be a member of the church to participate.

In October 2015, the Executive Council of the Bracebridge United Church passed a motion to create a Syrian Refugee Fund with the goal of raising at least $27,000 to support the settlement and sponsorship of one Syrian refugee family in Bracebridge to help them start a new life in Canada.

We are working collaboratively with any and all groups and individuals supporting the sponsorship of Syrian refugees in Muskoka, and have been working particularly closely with Rotary Bracebridge, which is working to bring two more Syrian families to Bracebridge.
